On a job hunt? CNE is hiring for the summer in Toronto

If you’re currently on the hunt for a summer job in Toronto, make sure to start cleaning up your resume as soon as possible, because the Canadian National Exhibition (CNE) is hiring for dozens of seasonal positions ahead of the annual end-of-summer fair.

With well over a million visitors every year, “The Ex” is searching for tons of hard-working candidates to ensure its operations run smoothly this year, with jobs ranging from bartenders to attendants and ticket sellers.

On Wednesday, the CNE announced that applications are now open for summer roles, including costume characters, lost and found attendants, info booth attendants, traffic controllers, entertainment runners, admission ticket sellers, and gate attendants.

For most of the seasonal positions, you must be at least 14 to 18 years old, and available to work all 18 days of the fair, which takes place between Aug. 21 and Sept. 7, 2026.

On top of being available to work flexible hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays (Labour Day), you’ll also need to attend mandatory HR and job-specific orientations in early to mid-August.

Last year, the CNE reported a record 54,000 online applications for its annual job fair, which typically takes place a few weeks before the summer festival begins. Despite this, there were approximately 5,000 positions available, including game attendants, food service staff, cashiers, and midway operators.

If none of the positions listed spark your interest so far, you can hold off until the job fair later in the summer — but expect even more competition.

You can find a full list of the available seasonal positions on the CNE’s website.
