A 1930s-themed circus with electrifying cabaret is coming to Calgary

Beyond the Big Top, this cabaret troupe is redefining cirque for next-generation audiences.

At its inaugural fundraiser, Cirque Nuit Arts Foundation invites audiences to step into an immersive theatre show that supports the future of circus arts.

Set in the 1930s Prohibition Era, this theatrical experience is tucked away in a secret underground cabaret in the heart of downtown Calgary.

You’re invited to step behind the velvet curtain of a speakeasy where every performer has a story to tell.

There will be circus arts, burlesque, live music, dance and a range of unforgettable characters that’ll stick.

What to expect

Beyond the Big Top Cabaret is part stage show and part rebellion, blending high-calibre artistry with immersive storytelling.

It’s all hosted by the Cirque Nuit Arts Foundation, with every ticket purchased supporting work in the community.

You’ll experience gravity-defying circus acts set to sultry burlesque and live music.

The event takes place in a fully immersive 1920-1930s speakeasy environment, brought alive by photo-ready sets and roaming characters.

There will also be a late-night after party where you can dance like Gatsby to live DJs all night long.

It’ll mark a major milestone in the evolution of the Cirque Nuit Arts Foundation, who provide funding and arts development opportunities to local circus talent.

You can opt for a VIP experience with early access to the lounge and a catered dinner at 6 p.m., plus premium seating and an artist meet-and-greet following the show.

Or, general admission for a cheaper price, which includes access to all pre-show lobby activations beginning at 6:30 p.m.

However you decide to attend, it’ll be a night to remember, full of electrifying circus performances and plenty of memories to be made. All eyes to the stage!
