Cherry blossom season is almost here – woohoo!
Cherry blossoms, also known as Sakura, are a sign of spring and can be seen all over Ontario. If you want to take in these stunning blooms you’ll have to mark your calendar as they usually only stick around for about a week and here’s where to see them.

If you’re near Toronto, it’s worth the trip to High Park to see rows of cherry blossom trees in full bloom.
This spot attracts thousands of people each year and for good reason.
Fun fact, The area of cherry blossom Sakura trees along the High Park Trail was gifted to Toronto in 1959 from Tokyo’s citizens to Toronto’s citizens for their support of Japanese-Canadian refugees after WWII.

Another spot in downtown Toronto that boasts plenty of cherry blossom blooms.
You’ll be right in the heart of Queen West if you make the trip to Trinity Bellwoods so make sure to explore the shops and restaurants in the area while you’re at it.

This park is named after Mississauga’s sister city in Japan and offers a zen garden, koi-filled ponds and 80 cherry blossom trees to check out in the spring.

One of Ottawa’s most popular attractions, the Dominion Arboretum, is the perfect place to see some cherry blossoms this spring.
The arboretum and ornamental gardens are free to the public so head on over and enjoy.

Also located in Ottawa is Major’s Hill Park, a great place to see cherry blossoms.
You’ll find this spot next to ByWard Market, a beautiful area with river views, lookouts and trails. The Sakura trees are located along Mackenzie Avenue.

These beautiful gardens have 60 varieties of herbs, flowers and plants including cherry blossoms in the spring!

You’ll have to pay to park here but it’s worth it for the stunning blooms.
The cherry tree blossoms near the Niagara Parks Botanical Gardens entrance usually are visible around mid/end of May so plan accordingly!

This spot in Burlington stands along downtown Burlington’s shoreline.
This picturesque park features a boardwalk, pier, playground and Japanese-inspired garden with stunning cherry blossom blooms.

Bayfront Park is right by downtown Hamilton.
The entrance pathway to this spit is filled with cherry blossom trees that were donated from Japan over 20 years ago!
