This Ontario boardwalk along the shoreline of a river offers beautiful scenic views

Ontario is home to what feels like millions of hiking trails from the shortest ventures to long treks, and rocky paths to paved platforms. Though we do love to get into the thick of it, a pleasant stroll along a smooth road or better yet, a scenic boardwalk is enough to bring us peace. If that’s something you’re intrigued by, there’s an Ontario boardwalk you definitely want to explore this fall. Here’s what to know about Chapman Mills Conservation Area.

Just a few minutes away from Canada’s capital, Ottawa, you’ll find Chapman Mills. This area sprawls across 23 acres of land, located on the west bank of the Rideau River.

According to Rideau Valley Conservation Area, Chapman Mills features a natural river shoreline, wetlands, and floodplain areas that are pretty unique in the city.

Wherever you end up, you’ll get scenic views of the Rideau River and the beautiful wildlife that habitats the area. You can find interpretive signs along trails that tell the environmental story of the land.
