There are fall colour chairlift rides in Ontario with sky-high views

Take your fall experiences to new heights! Calabogie Peaks is a ski resort an hour and 20 minutes outside of Ottawa in Ontario, and while there’s no skiing this time of year you can still take in some amazing sights. The resort has a fall chairlift experience where you can soar above the changing colours of the treetops.

Where and when

If you’re driving from Toronto, getting to Calabogie Peaks will take around four hours by car. From Ottawa, around an hour and 20 minutes.

The chairlift experience starts on September 21st with the following operating dates during the season:

  • September 21st
  • September 28th & 29th
  • October 5th & 6th
  • October 12th, 13th & 14th

The lift operates from 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM on the days it’s open.

Cost and ticketing

Tickets for the Calabogie Peaks chairlift experience can be purchased beforehand online or in person.

The ticket includes unlimited chairlift rides between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM costing $15 per person.

Children ages 0-6 are free.

If you want to make the most of your time among the stunning views there are mini photo shoots available to book.

“Each session is 15 minutes long for 10 professionally captured and edited photos. Couples, families, and are friends encouraged to book this ahead as limited spots are available,” shares Calabogie Peaks.

The sessions start at $125.
