There’s always something incredible to see and do in Wild Rose Country, but when the sun comes out, it’s an extra special place. From hiking trails to charming towns, the province has it all, but if you’re a happy camper, there’s no place quite like Castle Provincial Park — a true Alberta gem.
Located just south of Calgary, this enchanting destination is where adventure seekers will find what they’re looking for and families can go to make a few memories.
With towering trees and mountain views, this park is a sight to behold, and the campground is a summertime must-visit.
In addition to taking photos and going fishing, having a picnic or wandering the trails, those who stay the night can also get some shuteye in a quiet site under the stars.
Sound like a dream? You won’t have to wait much longer to check it out.
The Castle Falls Campground actually opens on May 16 for the 2025 season and will cost around $25 per night.
This, of course, is totally worth it, because we haven’t even gotten to the best part yet.
As the name suggests, the park features a beautiful waterfall and a crystal-clear river where visitors can go swimming, but be warned. This water is pretty chilly, but if you’re staying nearby, a blanket and a spot near the fire will warm you up in no time.
If you’re interested in checking it out, Alberta Park will accept reservations made up to 90 days before your desired date.
Please note that this campground doesn’t provide firewood or water, so you’ll have to bring your own along with a tent, your friends, and some snacks.
There are only 45 sites available, so don’t hesitate!
It’s going to be a long, hot summer, and Castle Falls is a fantastic place to beat the heat.
