Buckle up! Here’s when Alberta’s first and only alpine coaster will open for the season

It might not feel like it right now, but sunnier days are just around the corner.

This spring, when the snow finally melts, don’t hesitate to check out Canyon Ski Resort, home of the first and only alpine coaster in Alberta.

Beloved by tourists and locals alike, this fast-moving attraction opened in 2022 and will be back up and running on Saturday, May 18th – the beginning of the long weekend.

Located just outside Red Deer, this wild ride is over 1,300 meters long, can travel at a speed of 40 km/hr and has a 439-foot vertical drop in total.

If however, this sounds too fast for you, each rider has their own brake, which can be pressed at any time while on the long winding track.

Interested? According to their website, the Canyon Coaster is fun for all ages and physical capabilities over the age of 3 – as long as they’re accompanied by a responsible person aged 16.
