Your passport holds power! The Passport Index has released its updated global rankings and the Canadian passport has kept its spot. If you’ve been planning any international travel, just know your passport is among the top ten most powerful in the world. Here’s what it means and what to know.

The Henley Passport Index “compares the visa-free access of 199 different passports to 227 travel destinations. If no visa is required, then a score with value = 1 is created for that passport.”
Canadians held the passport ranking of 7th, sharing the spot with Hungary, Czechia and Malta.
Canada earned a higher mobility score compared to last year’s spot at 8th and is still one of the only countries that can travel visa-free to over 100 global destinations.
25 countries require visas and 50 require visas on arrival for Canadian travellers.
This means you typically won’t have to worry about travelling with any other documents aside from your passport!
Singapore moved into the loan top spot with France, Germany, Italy, Japan and Spain tied for 2nd.
