It’s that time of the year again! Canada’s Top 100 Employers have been revealed for 2026, and here’s who made the list.
The annual competition is celebrating its 26th year, recognizing employers that “lead their industries in offering exceptional places to work.”
From east to west, editors release detailed reasons for why they picked each employer, which offers transparency, allowing readers to discover best practices at the country’s leading employers.
Winners are then announced annually in a special magazine, distributed nationally in The Globe and Mail.
“Employers selected for this year’s competition lead their industry in offering progressive programs and policies, actively seeking to address employee concerns through engagement,” shares Kristina Leung, managing editor at Canada’s Top 100 Employers.
“They leverage feedback for policy change and benefit enhancements, demonstrating that even in uncertain times, their commitment to their people is unwavering.”
But how is each employer judged?
To determine who deserves to be on the list, employers in similar industries, regions, and sizes are compared.
Employers are evaluated on eight selection criteria: Workplace, Work Atmosphere & Social Environment, Vacation & Time Off, Employee Communications, Performance Management, Training & Skills Development, Community Involvement, and Health, Financial & Family Benefits.
“While the principal selection criteria remain consistent, the scope of these criteria has extended to reflect evolving benefits and workplace practices and trends,” states organizers. “Examples include expanded time-off policies, flexible work options, health and wellness programs, and workplace safety.”
Canadian employers are now, more than ever, focusing on the betterment of their employees and their growth.
That being said, if you’re looking for new employment or simply curious to see if your company made the list, keep on reading.
