These are Canada’s top employers for young people & here’s who’s hiring

Starting off your career, especially after graduating can be a daunting task. Constant job rejections can be unmotivating but that just means it wasn’t meant to be! And that’s okay because thankfully Canada is home to some of the best employers for young people. So much so that organizers of the annual Canada’s Top 100 Employers competition have released this year’s list, dedicated to young people.

Canada’s Top Employers for Young People is an annual list that recognizes the employers that offer the country’s best workplaces and programs for young people just starting their careers.

Those selected are judged based on programs and initiatives they offer in an effort to attract and keep younger workers.

According to the list, these programs include benefits like tuition assistance and co-op/work-study programs, mentorship and training programs, and bonuses for completing trades or professional designations.

Along with these perks, these employers also recognize the importance of building relationships at work. Recent grads are encouraged to meet coworkers outside of work through social gatherings, resource groups, and clubs.

“For young people just entering the workforce, the pandemic created a ripple effect in terms of financial challenges and an absence of social experiences,” said Kristina Leung, managing editor at Mediacorp.

“During university or college, their learning experiences were largely virtual, as were many internships and co-op placements. This year’s winners have put special efforts into easing the transition for young people back to onsite work, including in their training and orientation programs.”

If you’re currently on the job hunt, mentioned employers that are currently hiring include EY, Citi, Genetec, Hydro Ottawa, Loblaw Companies, Metrolinx, RBC, Scotiabank and more.

You can explore each employer page for job opportunities that better suit your needs.

Now without further ado, here’s Canada’s Top Employers for Young People 2024:

This is a great place to start if you’re on the hunt for a new job.

Happy hunting!
