Travellers can soon fly to the beautiful Faroe Islands from these Canadian cities

Looking to take a vacation somewhere remote and beautiful? Travellers flying from Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal and Halifax will soon be able to visit the stunning Faroe Islands, a self-governing archipelago part of the Kingdom of Denmark. Ready to jet off and explore somewhere new? Here are all the details on Icelandair‘s new flights from Canada to the Faroe Islands.

Icelandair announced in the summer that it was expanding its route network with a new destination: The Faroe Islands and that it would operate between five and six flights a week from the beginning of May 2024 through to October 2024.

Four of the airports Icelandair will be running the Faroe Islands flights from are in Canada and include Toronto Pearson International Airport, Vancouver International Airport, Halifax Stanfield International Airport and Montréal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport.

Flights will start as of May 19th from Vancouver, as of May 30th from Toronto, and in shorter spans for Montreal which begins flying out October 9th, and on September 18th in Halifax.

Flights from Toronto to Faroe Islands start at $747 CAD, $951 CAD in Vancouver, $1,453 in Montreal and $1,198 in Halifax.

While the flights don’t begin until May, travellers can book tickets now.

“We are very pleased to announce the Faroe Islands as a new destination. The islands are an exciting destination and we have noticed great interest from our customers across the world in visiting them,” said Bogi Nils Bogason, CEO of Icelandair.

I don’t know about you but it sounds like a trip to the Faroe Islands is in my near future!
