6 spectacular fireworks shows to see on Canada Day in Toronto

Canada will celebrate its 155th birthday this July 1, and with in-person events back in full swing, you best believe that this year’s celebrations will be over-the-top. The city will be absolutely brimming with fun things to do, including colourful light shows in the night sky. If you’re hoping to catch some Canada Day fireworks in Toronto this year, we’re happy to report that you will have plenty of choices.

Here are 6 dazzling fireworks displays in Toronto that you can catch on Canada Day.

NOTE: On July 1, The City of Toronto announced that it has cancelled fireworks at Milliken Park. Also, Canada Day fireworks planned at Stan Wadlow Park have been rescheduled to tomorrow, Saturday, July 2

Downsview Park

The annual July 1st celebration is returning to Downsview Park, with entertainment, games for kids, inflatables, vendors, food trucks, and of course, fireworks! Grab a blanket and your best pals for a free Canada Day celebration and light show.

Celebration Canada at Canada’s Wonderland

Canada’s premier amusement park is hosting a massive celebration for our nation’s birthday, showcasing live music, authentic Canadian food (a.k.a. peameal bacon and poutine galore), street performers, and a spectacular fireworks display. Ride the epic coasters, splash around in the water park, and celebrate Canada Day all at the same time.

Mel Lastman Square

This free Canada Day festival in North York will feature live music, dance performances, and fun activities, followed by spectacular fireworks at 10 p.m. The outdoor amphitheater will host a lineup of concerts, and there will also be several multicultural pop-up shows to see.

Ashbridges Bay Park

The City will resume its annual Canada Day fireworks show at this east-end beachfront park on the night of July 1. The show begins at 10 p.m. and will be visible all along Toronto’s waterfront.

Stan Wadlow Park — POSTPONED

Another City-run fireworks display will begin at 10 p.m. at Stan Wadlow Park, a 8.5-hectare green space near O’Connor Avenue and Woodbine Avenue.

Milliken Park– CANCELLED

Finally, residents of Scarborough will also get to enjoy a Canada Day fireworks show put on by the City of Toronto. The park is located near the northern edge of Scarborough, east of McCowan Road, with its main entrance on the south side of Steeles Avenue East.
