Traditionally medieval villages would have a Maypole in their village square around where villagers would enjoy dancing, games, contests, choosing a May Queen, and feasting.
At Camlann’s festival, you’ll be able to see crafters demonstrate garland weaving, textiles, blacksmithing, basket making, leatherworking, and pottery. It’s a rare opportunity to witness these ancient crafts in action, and you’ll come away with a new appreciation for the skill and dedication of these craftsmen.
If you’re hungry, you can feast on authentic medieval cuisine, including hearty stews, roasted meats, and fresh-baked bread.
Medieval clothing is encouraged, but optional. Keep in mind that greens, yellows, and a chaplet for your hair are preferred on this occasion.
