A few days ago, we informed you how our beloved city was set to witness its first garden-to-table community, aka Rangeview, located in Southeast Calgary. The community has now opened two home styles- laned and front garage. To mark this launch, the community is about to receive the grand opening it so deserves.
For those who need it, here’s a quick recap: Rangeview is a residential community designed by Section23 Developments, the Calgary-based real estate developer. Spread across the former Ollerenshaw family farm, it is a one-of-a-kind community that has embraced agricultural urbanism and offers enough green cover for residents to grow fresh produce individually and collectively. With this initiative, it has become the first-ever garden-to-table community in the province. The great thing is that this environmentally sustainable lifestyle comes with all of the urban amenities and convenience.
Circling back to the grand opening, well, the event is designed to give you not just a tour of the show homes but a taste of what life in Rangeview would be like. So, you can also make a whole family day out of the opening event.
Touring the homes, enjoying refreshments, shopping for fresh produce and local artisanal products at the mini Farmers’ Market would be on your agenda. As would be the chance to win an electric scooter. And while you are busy doing all this, the kids can pet farm animals at the petting zoo, get their faces painted, and wear balloon hats crafted by the balloon artist.
The event will be hosted by Section23 on Saturday, September 11th, 12 pm to 5 pm.
If you are as excited as we are to experience this homely vibe the community clearly has going, check out their event page here for all the info. We sure hope to see you there, Calgary!
