How to embark on an epic Calgary scavenger hunt this summer

Isn’t it crazy that at some point in your childhood, you probably did a scavenger hunt for the last time without even knowing it?

Good news: it doesn’t have to be the last time. This summer, you can experience Calgary like never before by participating in the Calgary Culture Scavenger Hunt.

Designed by an expert team of writers and adventurers, the self-guided hunt lets locals and visitors alike get to know Calgary by guiding them through must-sees and hidden secrets. All you have to do is download the Let’s Roam app and purchase your tickets. From there, you’ll follow cues, solve riddles, learn fun facts, answer trivia, and conquer challenges.

Get roaming

The game-ified app creates a scavenger hunt like you’ve never done before. Interactive photo challenges, a city-wide leader board, and countless opportunities to earn points make it an adventure fit for the whole family. Plus, you can pause your progress if you want to make a detour along the way.

You’ll kick off your journey at the Calgary Stock Exchange Statue downtown, before visiting iconic sites like The Bow, Stephen Avenue, Courthouse Park, and the Palace Theatre. The app provides turn-by-turn directions, so that instead of worrying about getting lost, you can focus on solving riddles, completing missions, and snapping a picture or two along the way.

Hunts can also be customized based on your group or occasion, whether that’s date night, a family outing, a team-building exercise, or simply a fun time with friends. The hunt lasts about an hour and a half, traversing just over two kilometres in length.

Will your team claim a coveted spot on the Calgary Scavenger Hunt leaderboard? Lace up your shoes, put on your game face, and get ready to experience the city like never before.
