July 1 is hot on our heels, and the city will celebrate with live music, cultural showcases, and fireworks, but what if you need to do a last-minute errand? Whether you’re having a BBQ or entertaining out-of-town guests, you’ll need to know what is open and what is closed on Canada Day in Calgary.
Want to catch a flick on Tuesday? Check out Landmark Cinemas and Cineplex Theatres. They will all be open on July 1.
This Canada Day, Southcentre Mall, CrossIron Mills, CF Chinook Centre, CF Market Mall and The CORE Shopping Centre will all be open on July 1, though we’d recommend checking their hours before visiting.
On Tuesday, the Calgary Zoo will remain open for friends and families in town for Canada Day. Check them out!

This upcoming Tuesday, Maple Ridge and Lakeview, all Calgary-owned golf courses, will also be open. To make a tee time, head to the City’s website here.
Need to make a last-minute beer run or need to stop at the grocery store? You’re in luck. Most liquor and grocery shops will be open on July 1.
The ultimate tourist destination! This Canada Day, check out the Calgary Tower and enjoy the view.

This Tuesday, head to Telus Spark for food, funky desserts, and of course, a ton of incredible learning experiences.

This Canada Day, visit one of Alberta’s many museums, including the Royal Tyrrell Museum, the Hangar Flight Museum, or the Military Museum. Happy learning!
Love music? This Canada Day, you can get into the National Music Centre for free.

This Canada Day, head to Heritage Park where not only can you check out old-timey buildings, shops, carnival rides, but special programming as well!

Looks like you’ll have to get your hot dog fix somewhere else on Canada Day. While grocery and convenience stores will be open, Costco will not.
From the DMV to the Harry Hayes, all government offices will be closed on Canada Day.
