Calgary just installed free-to-use fire pits all over the city, here’s where to find them

New COVID measures are officially in place province-wide but fear not! The City of Calgary is doing what they can to prevent anyone from feeling alone during a time of year where most of us are used to the company of family and friends.

In an effort to promote safe socialization, some public parks have been fitted with temporary fire pits and, as if that wasn’t cool enough, they’re also offering free wood.

“COVID has been tough on all of us. We’re warming up select parks with temporary free-to-use fire pits this winter so you can gather with your family or cohorts safely outside,” the city wrote on their website.

Fire pits can be used anytime between 9 am and 9 pm, or can be booked between the hours of 12 am to 3 pm and 7 pm to 9 pm every day of the week. As for the firewood? Bundles will be available at the Inglewood Bird Sanctuary from Thursday through Saturday, 12 pm to 4 pm.
