Did you know? Calgary has an indoor beach with its own tiki bar

Calgary has some pretty long winters, but did you know you don’t need to book a tropical getaway to feel the sand between your toes? Calgary has its very own indoor beach where you can enjoy summer fun no matter the time of year!

The Beach YYC is Calgary’s first and only recreational beach facility spanning 13,000 square feet with over 700 tons of sand.

Located close to downtown Calgary in the neighbourhood of Ramsay, The Beach YYC is the only spot where you can enjoy soft sand no matter the time of year.

Play some volleyball, stop for drinks and a bite, or drop in for ultimate frisbee days. Here’s everything you can get up to at The Beach:

Things to do at the Beach YYC

Beach Volleyball

Stop by for a fun and friendly game, or sign up to play in a co-ed league. There are three divisions to choose from, ranging from recreational, intermediate, or competitive.

Events and Rentals

Book a unique team-building event or just some private time with friends. There are meeting spaces available on-site with high-speed internet and A/V. Not to mention a licensed beachside Tiki Bar alongside the beach volleyball and yard games.

Kids Activities

No need to pack sunscreen; the kiddos can enjoy a day at the beach without the fuss. Reserve The Beach YYC for birthday parties, beach camps, field trips, and general playtime. Don’t worry; there’s plenty of coffee for all attending parents.

The Beach YYC is also home to George’s Beach Club, where you can grab a tropical drink, craft beer, or beachside snack while you watch the action from above.

Escape for a little while with sports, bevvies, and a heap of sand. Who doesn’t love a day at the beach?
