According to a news release sent out this morning, the city will, yet again, extend support to businesses affected by the pandemic by allowing patios on public land.

This means that with a simple application, bars, restaurants and even some shops may set up seating on sidewalks and in parking lots to serve more customers safely without having to worry about capacity effective sales.

Last year, this pilot program helped over 100 businesses across Calgary, but that’s hardly even the best part. These permits are totally free and will even take effect earlier than they did in 2020 (official date TBD).

If you are eligible and would like more information the city has asked that you either call 403-268-5311 or go to their website here! Applications are now being accepted, so get at ’em folks! It won’t be long until we’re drinking beer, wearing flip-flops and enjoying the weather and patio season once again. What a life.
