Get ready to groove! The Burnaby Blues + Roots Festival returns this summer and it looks bigger and better than ever.
Mark your calendars for a day full of soul-stirring melodies, infectious rhythms, and all-round good vibes on Saturday, August 10th, at Deer Lake Park.
Grab your dancing shoes because there’s an extra-special lineup this year, headlined by GRAMMY Award-winning artist and civil rights activist Mavis Staples. The iconic American singer is renowned for her beautiful, soulful voice and powerful presence – sure to have you singing and swaying the day away.
You’ll also get to check out performances by Calexico, The Suffers, Crystal Shawanda, and, from the First Up with RBCXMusic program, the della kit.
The best part? It’s totally FREE to attend!
Along with incredible live music, you’ll also find all of the festival’s signature attractions this year.
Satisfy your cravings at a range of different food trucks, sip on your favourite brews while lounging in the sun at the beer garden, or browse the community booths.
The festival kicks off at 4:00 PM, with music and performances flowing until 10:00 PM.
Don’t miss out on this awesome summer experience! You can learn more and plan your day over on the festival website.
