‘Mean Girls’ and ‘Hairspray’: Here are all the Broadway shows coming to Vancouver this season

Theatre enthusiasts, you’re in for an unforgettable 2023-2024 season! Broadway Across Canada is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, and they’ve just dropped a stellar lineup of Vancouver shows. Let’s dive right in!

Four iconic theatrical products are set to take center stage at Queen Elizabeth Theatre this fall. First up, we have the Tony and Grammy-winning Best Musical, HADESTOWN, a retelling of Orpheus and Eurydice, followed by the hit musical-comedy MEAN GIRLS.

Next up is a returning favourite: Broadway’s Tony Award-winning musical HAIRSPRAY, set in the ’60s.

And finally, we come to the program’s sendoff: An unforgettable theatrical rendition of Disney’s FROZEN.

“It’s been a true privilege to share in the Broadway experience with our loyal patrons for what’s been an incredible 25 years at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre,” says Shana Levin, Vice President of Broadway Across Canada. “We look forward to continuing to bring memorable Broadway stories to Vancouver for many years to come, starting with our 25th Anniversary Season.”

Four-show season packages start at $215 and go on sale to the public on Thursday, April 27th at 10 am. Broadway Across Canada subscriptions can also be purchased online.

Current 2022-2023 season subscribers should receive info on their automatic renewal process via email by Monday, April 24th.

HADESTOWN

When: November 7th to 12th, 2023

MEAN GIRLS

When: January 23rd to 28th, 2024

HAIRSPRAY

When: April 2nd to 7th, 2024

Disney’s FROZEN

When: July 9th to 21st, 2024
Where: 630 Hamilton Street

In the meantime, Vancouverites can enjoy CATS onstage this May, Disney’s ALADDIN in July, and Ain’t Too Proud – The Life and Times of The Temptations this September.
