There’s a whimsical festival in Ontario with thousands of holiday lights displayed

Time to take a trip down south! Southern Ontario, that is. Bright Lights is a festival in Windsor, Ontario that puts thousands of lights on display in one of the city’s biggest spaces, Jackson Park. The displays are arranged around paths so visitors can stroll while they look, take photos and take in the creative pieces of work.

Free to attend, the Bright Lights Windsor festival runs from November 29th, 2024 to January 7th, 2025.

Getting there

The drive from Toronto to Bright Lights in Windsor, Ontario is around four hours by car.

While the main Jackson Park entrance and parking lot will be closed to vehicles to facilitate the festival, there will be several parking options nearby that are within a few minutes by foot including 245 Tecumseh Road East, 2365 McDougall Street and 2450 McDougall Street.

What to expect from Bright Lights

Named among the Top 100 Festivals and Events in Ontario for 2023, Bright Lights Windsor is one of the area’s most highly anticipated events.

Light displays will take over the park and there are other festivities to enjoy, too!

An Express Holiday Train will run every night of the festival from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM, as well as a special Holiday Market every Friday and Saturday from November 29th until January 7th.

Want to meet the big man himself? You can find Santa in his workshop on the west side of the large tree in the sunken gardens at Bright Lights.

He will be here every Friday and Saturday from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM through December 21st, 2024.
