“The best there ever was”: Wrestling legend Bret “The Hitman” Hart has a sports bar in Calgary

The man, the myth, a local legend! Bret “The Hitman” Hart appeared on Monday Night RAW on September 9th and it was one for the books!

Held in Calgary, Alberta, at the Scotiabank Saddledome, the show itself was just as fans would have it—loud, action-packed, and full of excitement!

In addition to the show itself, Canadian wrestler, hockey team founder, author, actor, and advocate, Bret “The Hitman” Hart, got into the ring for the first time in nearly a decade and it was as if he never even left.

“No one took more pride than I did being a champion, but also, a Canadian champion,” he said during his appearance.

“Let me tell you about Canadian champions, Canadian champions will take on anybody and never, ever duck a challenge and they have to prove themselves like I did every night for 20 years, that I was the best there is, the best there was, and the best there will ever be.”

So where has he been all this time?

Just as you’d expect, the icon has been quite busy!

Not only was he inducted into Canada’s Walk of Fame and the WWE Hall of Fame, but he also became the spokesperson for Romero Distilling and opened the aptly named, Hitman’s Bar, in Calgary—a nostalgic spot with memorabilia, special events, and viewing parties.

From themed drinks like the ‘PileDriver’ and the ‘JackKnife’ to menu items like the “Spin-aroonie” Spinach Dip and Bret’s Grilled Cheese Sandwich, this spot is a WWE fan’s must-visit.

It’s unclear if this will be his last hurrah, but it was an appearance we’ll remember for years to come.
