Vancouver’s beloved beachside pool is opening soon & here’s what to expect

Great news, Vancouver! The beloved Kitsilano Pool is officially reopening this weekend, and it couldn’t have come at a better time.

While we love a dip in the ocean as the weather continues to warm up, we couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome back one of the city’s most iconic summertime destinations.

While several other Vancouver pools announced their reopening dates recently, Kitsilano Pool has been undergoing critical repairs over the past few months.

Thanks to the consistent sun we’ve been getting, the pool has been successfully repaired by Park staff. Due to expected high demand, swimmers are encouraged to register online in advance through Showpass.

Note that reservations can be booked up to three days prior at noon. And while there will be drop-in spots available the day of, admission is not guaranteed.

Kitsilano Pool will officially reopen on Sunday, June 4th, and will operate during the following hours:

  • 7 to 8:30 am – lengths swim
  • 9 am to 11:30 am – public swim
  • Noon to 2:30 pm – public swim
  • 3 to 5:30 pm – public swim
  • 6 to 8:30 pm – public swim

In the meantime, you can swim at the Second Beach and New Brighton pools, and look forward to the opening of Maple Grove and Hillcrest pools on June 15th.

Vancouver Park Board’s Maple Grove and Hillcrest outdoor pools will open on June 15. More operational details to follow in the coming weeks.

So there you have it, Vancouver. Time to book your spot and get ready to do some laps!
