These beaches and marinas in Canada got awarded a prestigious status

Ever heard of the term ‘Blue Flag’ used in Canada before? We think we have, but it also might have just come to us in a dream and now we’re misremembering. Either way, this global programme has been on the leading edge of keeping beaches, marinas, and even boats on an even keel, so to speak. And this year, dozens of spots in Canada made the cut!

As a little background info, the Blue Flag award basically means that a space has met some pretty serious criteria for visitors, wildlife, and the environment. Going above and beyond “having a garbage can” or something, Blue Flag lays out a variety of criteria for the spaces to meet.
