Everything to know about Vancouver’s first-ever block party off Broadway

It’s time to make the most of the summer days we’ve got left! A brand-new block party is coming to Vancouver at the end of August, just off East Broadway — a first for this bustling street. So if you’ve been waiting to dance under the sun at another Mount Pleasant street party, this is your chance.

What to expect at the new Block Party Off Broadway

Organized by the Mount Pleasant BIA, the free block party will feature drinks from the Lido, live music all afternoon long, vintage finds, hot dogs from the Dog Meister, and wrapped “blind books” from the Perfect Match Bookshop, all on Carolina Street just off of East Broadway.

When is the block party?

The fun will go from noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 29, just outside of Anna’s Cake House. It’ll be a neighbourhood-wide event that you won’t soon forget!

Whether you pop by for some local vintage shopping, bring your pet out to see Catoro Pets or Baby D’s Home, pick up a bouquet from Blumen’s, or sip some spaghetts (beer-aperol cocktail) in the sun, you’re sure to have a blast here.

Are there any festivities going into the night?

If you want to keep the party going, you can continue dancing at the Lido at their BC Hydra Rock n Roll night. Here, party-goers can expect a night of hard rock, metal, and punk, all on vinyl.

Looking for more free events to check out before summer ends? Public Disco is bringing the party back to the Granville Street Pedestrian Zone on Aug. 18 and Sept. 2, with a free, open-air disco on both days!
