Another month is upon us and with it? Several events that will celebrate and honour the legacy of some truly incredible Canadians. From concerts and dance showcases to festivals and panels, Black History Month kicks off in Edmonton this February and so will a lineup of amazing things to see, do, learn and enjoy.

Here are just 10 that you can attend over the next few weeks.

Black History Month at MacEwan University

From art exhibitions and artistic performances to discussions and storytelling, MacEwan University will be hosting several Black History Month events in celebration of the Black Canadians, past and present.

CBWC – Edmonton Black History Month 2024

Featuring interactive workshops, food and cultural performances, Edmonton is encouraged to attend this year’s CBWC Black History Month event. Between 9:30 am and 3 pm wander, mix, mingle, learn, listen and have fun. It’s going to be great!

Black History 2024 Gospel Showcase

Black History Month 2024 Breakfast Brunch

Hungry? The Jamaican Association of Northern Alberta will host their annual Black History Month Breakfast Brunch at the Glengarry Community Hall. Featuring live entertainment, a keynote address by MLA Rhiannon Hoyle, and a satisfying meal, you will not want to miss it.

Black History Month Gala: Cultural Resilience in Black Arts
