These are the best Vancouver neighbourhoods to live in right now

Looking to buy a house or secure a long-term rental? Location is one of the most important factors to consider when doing either, especially in Vancouver. According to a new list by RE/MAX, there are a few neighbourhoods that rank as “the best to live in” right now – and the list takes a look at areas across the country.

So whether you’re looking to stay local or venture off to other provinces, it’s worth weighing your options!

To determine the country’s largest and growing housing markets, RE/MAX partnered with Montreal-based data analytics company Local logic1, looking at several livability factors.

These included affordability, proximity to work, transit, schools, health and medical services, walkability, access to green spaces and parks, drivability, access to walking paths, and whether a neighbourhood was diverse.

While BC did not make the cut for the top 10 best neighbourhoods in Canada, there are a handful to note within the province.

In terms of affordability, the top three neighbourhoods in Vancouver are Mount Pleasant, Main, and Renfrew Heights, according to RE/MAX.

On the other hand, Kitsilano is one of the best neighbourhoods in the city for homebuyers right now, with around half of all property listings selling in the last three months.

The ranking notes that demand in the Vancouver region is mostly driven by “city lovers with no kids,” as well as “health and wellness lovers.”

Finally, we come to three “up and coming” neighbourhoods to keep your eye on: Grandview, Hastings Sunrise, and Strathcona.

So there you have it, Vancouver! If you’re planning a move in the coming weeks or months, consider a move to one of these neighbourhoods.
