Well here we are, Vancouver- the start of spring kicks off this weekend! Does that mean that the weather will cooperate? Maybe, maybe not, but we don’t care. Instead, we’re focusing on all the fun that spring brings, and what the end of winter has to offer us.
Here are the 10 best things to do in Vancouver this weekend.
Without a doubt, the start of cherry blossom season more than makes up for the rain. And, with flowers starting to bloom all around the city, this is a great excuse to get out of the house for a few hours.

Monster Jam is back, baby! Eight different drivers will compete in a variety of events, including races, freestyle and a skills competition.

It’s really a double-whammy of high-intensity fun we’re going for with these picks. Even if you haven’t followed the band in recent years, we think the price is more than reasonable to hear one of the best glam rock songs of all time. We believe in a thing called love, do you?

In you’re in a more high brow mood, this might be up your alley. A new play called Men Express Their Feelings premieres this week, and is centred around 4 men (2 fathers and 2 sons) as they talk about “culture, hockey, relationships and sex”. Oh yeah, it’s set in a dressing room.

On that note, Made in Italy has started in the city! It follows a second-generation Italian man living in Jasper, Alberta, as he transforms into a suave character based off John Travolta and Rocky Balboa. We like the premise, a lot.

The Canucks have got back to back home games to check out this weekend! They’ll be facing off against the Flames on Saturday, then have another against the Buffalo Sabres on Sunday.

Sure, there’s spring cleaning to be done, but what about spring shopping? If you’re trying to liven up your home for the warmer months, make sure to check out this long-running market that brings together some of BC’s best artisans, artists, and creators.

The Polygon Gallery opened a new major exhibit last week, showing photos focused on clouds from the ‘Archive of Modern Conflict’. If you like to look at pretty pictures of clouds, well, this is the place to be.
