This park in Ontario has a peninsula framed by 20km of sandy beach

It feels like summer is here already – and we’re not complaining! If you’re ready to hit the sandy shores and tan on the beach, we know the perfect place. The beaches at Point Pelee National Park are where it’s at and there’s 20km of sand to enjoy.

According to Parks Canada, you can take refreshing swim at Point Pelee, which boasts the longest continuous natural beach in Essex County.

“Enjoy the smooth sand and build sandcastles on the west and east sides of the peninsula framed by 20km of sandy beach.”

Northwest Beach and West Beach are two of the most popular beach access areas, according to the government site. Here you’ll find washrooms, change rooms and picnic facilities.

On the otherside of the peninsula, you can also check out East Beach but there are no facilities there.

There are many magical beaches to explore around Canada and Northwest Beach at Point Pelee National Park is just one of them!

But there’s more to the park than just beach!

You can enjoy a peaceful canoe or kayak trip in its internationally recognized wetlands; enjoy over 12 km of hiking, walking, and cycling trails; watch as the sunsets over the horizon.

So much to do and so little time! It’s time to gather your closest pals and embark on a road trip to Point Pelee for a much needed beach day.
