One of Ontario’s oldest communities has a Christmas market with sleigh rides

Bath, Ontario, knows how to do the holidays right. What’s more magical than a Christmas market? A Christmas market in a big red barn.

MacKinnon Brothers Brewing is home to The Old Barn, a massive structure that’s been used to host concerts, weddings, and now, a holiday market with over 50 vendors!

That’s not all. There will be enchanting sleigh rides, food vendors, holiday shopping and photos with Santa. There’s one weekend left to enjoy the festivities and you won’t want to miss out. Who’s ready for a holly jolly time?

The Holiday Market in Bath, Ontario

The Holiday Market is happening in one of Ontario’s oldest communities, Bath. Settlement for the community began all the way back in 1784, officially earning the name Bath in the early 1800s.

Today, the community is thriving and runs some pretty sweet events such as the holiday market. This year, the final weekend of the market will run from Nov. 30 – Dec. 1, open both days from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.

The over 50 vendors offer a little of everything. Yep, you can pick an aromatic candle, a handmade piece of jewellery, delicious baked goods or knitted treasures (just to name a few).

Hop aboard one of the sleigh wagon rides, which run each day until dusk. While the sleigh rides will run with or without snow, my fingers are crossed that we get a little on the ground by then.

Santa will be making an appearance and if you want to snap a photo with the big man, he’ll be available. And would it really be a visit from Santa if his reindeer weren’t there? Dasher and Comet will also be roaming the market, and yes, they are real-life reindeer.

Live music is happening on both days from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m., so you can sing a holiday jingle while you roam.

Don’t forget to stop in for a “naughty or nice” beverage at one of the three bars and have a seat around the warm fire pit outside of the barn.

You’ll need to bring some cash as entry is cash-only at the door, $10 per adult with children ages 12 and under able to enter for free.

Happy holidays and I hope your time at the Holiday Market in Bath, Ontario, is truly magical.
