Your next summer adventure awaits! If you’re eager for a summer hike, especially past majestic waterfalls, then Ball’s Falls Conservation Area is the place to be.
Located within Lincoln, Ontario, this area is known for its incredible natural beauty.
In addition to the Niagara escarpment and gorge, you’ll get incredible views of both the Upper and Lower Ball’s Falls. This also includes historic buildings that’ll transport you back in time.
However, don’t wait too long to visit this beautiful spot, as it does tend to dry up in the late summer months.
The site is named after the Ball family, who were originally from Germany and had mill operations in the area, says Tourism Niagara.
Back in the 19th century, the region was nothing but a small village where the Ball family lived and worked.
Some buildings from that time period are still standing today, including the blacksmith shop, flour mill, restored church, and the Ball family home.
“In July 2024 the Town of Lincoln officially recognized Ball’s Falls as a heritage property,” shares Tourism Niagara. “The designation recognizes the architectural, historical, and contextual importance of Ball’s Falls, which has been a key landmark in Lincoln and the broader Niagara region for generations.”
According to AllTrails, the waterfall hike at Ball’s Falls is approximately 1.8 kilometres out and back.
The popular trail takes about 29 minutes to complete, on average. It’s open year-round and dogs are welcome on a leash.
This is the perfect day trip adventure for outdoor lovers and nature seekers. We are very sure you won’t be disappointed.
