There’s an astronomy event in Mississauga & you can bask in the beauty of a starry night sky

Nothing beats the beauty of a starry night sky. If you’ve ever want to take part in an Astronomy event, now is your chance. There’s a one-night stargazing event coming to Mississauga next month.

The Royal Astronomical Society of Canada is hosting a one-night event in October where those enrolled will be able to view stars and the wonders of the universe.

Along with that, there will be a chance to use binoculars and telescopes to observe the moon, the sun, planets, and more.

“If weather conditions are not ideal for star gazing, we will cancel the event at 12:00 pm that day, and postpone the event to the next day,” states the website.

The road access to Chappell Lawn will be closed so you must park in the main parking lot and walk over using Riverwood Park Lane, according to The Riverwood Conservancy.

If you plan to attend the event, just remember that no flashlights or flash photography will be allowed past the barrier in order to reduce light pollution.

Make sure to register online to save your spot.

Astronomy Night

When: October 4 from 7:30 pm to 9 pm
Where: 4300 Riverwood Park Ln, Mississauga
Cost: $5 and Free for RASC Members
