This Ontario Park has a “geological phenomenon” formed over 1000 years ago

Now this is something you’re going to want to check out. Arrowhead Provincial Park, located within the heart of Muskoka, is home to Big Bend, a “geological phenomenon” created from years of glacial river sediment, build-up, and erosion.

Big Bend isn’t all there is to check out here either.

While this Ontario Park is open year-round, it’s the perfect summer destination to add to your list of road trips.

According to Ontario Parks, Arrowhead is known for Big Bend, calling it a “natural wonder.”

There’s an easy trail at the park that leads to a lookout of Big Bend. with interpretive panels on the viewing platform detailing “the intriguing history.”

The lake-like “glacial delta” is said to have formed over 1000 years ago and is is one of the largest attractions at the park for good reason.

Another popular attraction is Stubbs Falls.

Stubbs Falls can be found via the Stubb’s Falls Trail, a 2 KM hike that leads to the beautiful falls.

Rocks surrounding the falls have a “long and interesting history” brought to their resting place by “the last ancient glacier to advance over the park.”

End your day at Arrowhead Provincial Park by checking out one of the three sandy beaches!

According to Ontario Parks, the “three quiet, clean, sandy beaches have change facilities that back into birch groves.”

Getting a day pass is easy, just head here and book now.
