It’s been two long years without the Amtrak Cascades. You know, the train line that runs along the coast from here in Vancouver all the way down to Eugene, OR? It’s a quick way to get from city to city while also experiencing some of the most beautiful coastal scenery that the PNW has to offer. And it looks like we won’t have to wait much longer to enjoy it again.
On February 7th, Amtrak Cascades posted to Facebook letting followers know that they may soon see the Cascades trains on local tracks once again. However, these trains are not full of passengers rather they’re making “re-qualification runs necessary to resume service north of Seattle.” Amtrak did not provide an exact date as to when the service will resume but did mention “later this spring”.
The train’s route includes stops in Bellingham, Seattle, Tacoma, Portland, before concluding in Eugene.
