The official trailer for ‘Peter Pan & Wendy’ dropped & it features an Alberta-born actress

It’s been a long time coming but the highly anticipated Peter Pan & Wendy now has an official trailer and audiences are getting their first peek at Cree actress Alyssa Wapanatâhk who plays Tiger Lily.

Born in Fort McMurray, Alberta, Wapanatâhk has not only been featured in Rehab and Bones of Crows, but also wrote a grant-winning short film.

Credited as both the producer AND writer Napes Kasêkipatwât / The Boy And The Braid premiered in 2018 and received generous funding from Storyhive – an organization that helps support young creatives around the world.

Peter Pan & Wendy, however, is her first role in the Disneyverse and we can’t wait to see her take on the character – one that many agree previously misrepresented the indigenous community.

Luckily – just as so many had hoped, the preview for the upcoming remake is truly magical and features an impressive cast of new and familiar faces – but it won’t be long until we get to see it in full!

Also starring Jude Law (Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore), Alexander Molony (The Reluctant Landlord), Ever Anderson (Resident Evil: The Final Chapter) and Yara Shahidi (Grown-ish) the film will premier April 28th, 2023 on Disney+ so check it out!

It looks enchanting!
