“The jewel of the north”: This Alberta beach resort has soft sand & pontoon rentals

Beach days are the best days! Luckily, if you’re in Wild Rose Country, you’ve got some options!

Located in High Prairie, Alberta, Shaw’s Point Beach Resort is described as the “jewel of the North” and has miles of soft sand perfect for a weekend getaway with friends, family, or your special someone.

At this family-owned and operated destination, guests can take a dip in Lesser Slave Lake, go kayaking, waterskiing, canoeing, or rent a pontoon for as little as $45 per hour.

This, of course, is in addition to lounging on the shoreline, building sandcastles, reading a book or grabbing a bite to eat at their restaurant.

Interested in staying the night? Head to their website and see their availability now.

Sites are suitable for RVs, Tents, and camper vans – but they also have cabins and can be visited for a short time, as long as you’re willing to pay the $18 day-pass fee.

As the largest privately owned campground in Alberta, there’s truly nothing like it, so check it out!

Heck, maybe we’ll see you out there. Life is a beach!
