This stunning Alberta destination will be FREE to explore this summer & here’s when

Wild Rose Country is an incredible place and there’s nothing like the Rocky Mountains – especially when the weather cooperates.

Hoping to hit the dusty trail, go for a paddle, have a picnic, or birdwatch this summer? You’re in luck because Kananaskis Country in Alberta will be FREE to visit on select days this season.

Due to the park’s popularity, adventure seekers are usually required to purchase a Kananaskis Conservation Pass for $15 a day or $90 a year – but there are a few exceptions.

According to their website, you can now explore without having to pay, as long as you visit on the first Wednesday of every month.

Aptly named “Wilderness Wednesdays,” the park will temporarily waive admission fees in hopes of getting as many people out and about.

Can’t check them out on a weekday?

You can also visit Kananaskis, Alberta for FREE on the following holidays:

  • New Year’s Day: January 1
  • Family Day: 3rd Monday of February
  • Earth Day: April 22
  • Indigenous People’s Day: June 21
  • Parks Day: 3rd Saturday of July
  • Kananaskis Country’s Birthday: September 22
  • Remembrance Day: November 11
  • First day of winter: December 21
  • Christmas Day: December 25

And there you have it!

We hope you’ve got your calendar marked because you won’t want to miss a single opportunity this season.

Enjoy and maybe we’ll see you out there.

There’s really no place quite like Kananaskis Country in Alberta
