This thermal wellness spa in the Rockies is ‘unlike anywhere else in the world’

During the winter, it’s extra important that we take care of our mental and physical health. If you’re in need of a little R and R, look no further than BASIN Glacial Waters, which is described as being “unlike anywhere else in the world.” Located within Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, this wellness escape is calling your name.

BASIN’s thermotherapy circuit is designed for guests to curate their own relaxation experience, whatever that may be. Some of the features you can explore during your self-guided visit include:

  • Vitality pools
  • Aufguss sauna
  • Outdoor terrace
  • Steam rituals
  • Pedi massage
  • Kneipp walk
  • Glacial lounge
  • Finnish and bio saunas
  • Himalayan salt room

BASIN even outlines suggested “trails” if you’re not sure where to start, based on what you’re looking to get out of your time there.

And while you’re sure to have a rejuvenating experience, the architecture is a whole other aspect you get to take in.

“Capturing the spirit of Lake Louise was at the heart of the architectural intention, to respect the richness of the landscape with a design that represents simplicity, purity, and the uniqueness of the location. Nature and the beautiful surroundings of the lake and the forest become the protagonists – architecture and interior design, the stage,” shares Matteo Thun, the architect behind BASIN.

For the time being, you have to be a guest at Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise to access BASIN, but who doesn’t love a weekend getaway?

I don’t know about you, but nothing would relax me more than overlooking views of a gorgeous mountain scape and sparkling lake.

Your winter getaway awaits, Alberta.
