Paid to travel: This cruise line is holding auditions for performers in Toronto

I don’t know about you, but getting paid to travel around the world via cruise ship sounds pretty nice. Well, if you’re a performer in Toronto then get ready to make that dream a reality. Aida Cruise Lines is looking for singers and dancers to join their fleet and auditions are being held in the city.

Auditions

Aida Cruises is a German-based cruise line that operates 13 different ships to locations all over the globe.

Of course, cruises need entertainment and Aida is looking for singers and dancers, holding auditions in New York City and Toronto.

According to Aida Cruises, the audition breakdown is as follows:

May 08, 2024 – Initial singer auditions

May 09, 2024 – Final Singer Callbacks (Morning/Early Afternoon)

May 09, 2024 – Dancer Auditions (Afternoon)

Here’s what they’re looking for.

Singers can be any age over 18, any ethnicity, and any gender identity.

Aida is seeking “highly skilled and versatile singers with strong acting abilities and personalities.” Candidates must have movement ability for set choreography, strong entertainer abilities, a high level of musicality, excellent interpretation skills and the ability to move the audience.

For dancers, you must be any age over 18, any ethnicity and any gender identity.

Candidates will need strong technique with ballet and jazz training. Previous chorus line work preferred with strong entertainer abilities, high level of musicality, excellent interpretation skills and ability to move the audience required. Candidates do not need to have singing ability.

Before you head out for your audition you’ll need to send a demo reel of your singing or dancing to aidaUSAauditions@gmail.com. You will also be provided with more information. The deadline for submission is April 29th.

Auditions are being held at Elgin & Winter Garden Theatres.

Job Perks

The contract starts in June and will run for six months.

Singers will earn EUR 710 per week after taxes with payments for full health insurance, taxes, and annuity already deducted.
After working 180 days for the company pay will increase to $770 per week.

Dancers will earn EUR $370 – 500 per week after taxes with payments for full health insurance, taxes, and annuity already deducted. Pay increases after 180 days for the company goes to $430 – $525 per week.

Round-trip flights and single occupancy accommodations are provided and meals and onboard benefits are also provided for both roles.
