A huge farm experience is coming to Calgary where you can get up close with animals

A massive, family-friendly event that brings the farm straight to the city is returning to Calgary this spring, and it’s completely free to check out!

Aggie Days is back this April, giving visitors the chance to experience Alberta agriculture up close through interactive exhibits, live demonstrations, and hands-on activities.

This event has been a staple in the city for over 40 years, connecting Calgarians with the people and processes behind their food.

What Aggie Days is all about

Hosted by the Calgary Stampede, the event is designed to be both fun and educational. The experience will bring together farmers, local producers, and industry experts who will share their knowledge through demonstrations and displays.

From learning how food is grown and processed to learning more about life on the farm, visitors can gain a deeper understanding of Alberta’s agricultural industry.

One of the biggest highlights of the event is the chance to get up close with farm animals, along with hands-on activities that are exciting for kids. There will also be live competitions, such as the Extreme Cowboy race, where riders and horses take on obstacles that showcase real ranch work.

Plan your visit

If you’re thinking of attending the event, planning your visit is easy! Aggie Days will run on April 18 and April 19, 2026, at the Nutrien Western Event Centre and Agricultural Barns at Stampede Park. The event will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and admission is free, so you can drop in anytime and explore at your own pace.

With so much to see and do, Aggie Days is the perfect way to immerse yourself in the world of farming without leaving the city. Whether you’re there for the animals or looking for a learning experience, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
