As if a ride on Banff’s gondola wasn’t already one of the most magical experiences you can have in Alberta’s Rocky Mountains this winter, Pursuit, the company behind the high climbing attraction will introduce Nightrise – an immersive activity that merges multimedia, storytelling and nature for what they’re calling a “new and inspiring perspective” at the location.
In participation with the Stoney Nakoda Nation, Montreal’s Moment Factory has promised something truly breathtaking.
“Set amongst one of the most dramatic and visually stunning mountain landscapes in the Canadian Rockies, Nightrise will invite visitors to experience an incredible multi-media experience at such a unique and unexpected location,” Dave McKenna, the President of Pursuit told us in a press release.

“This new nighttime experience on top of the Banff Gondola will enable guests to explore the surrounding natural environment in an enriching and exclusive way.”
Featuring bright colourful lights, effects, projections and soundscapes, Nightrise is meant to deepen the understanding of both the historical impact and cultural significance that the Stoney Nakoda Nation has on one of Alberta’s favourite mountain towns.
“By telling a story in such a visual and sensory way, this project gives the Stoney Nation the opportunity to tell our story through the footprints of our ancestors and the traditional ties we hold to these lands,” said Kirsten Ryder, Training & Development Director, Stoney Nakoda Nation.
Once at the tip-top of Sulpher Mountain, guests will also be encouraged to indulge in food and drink as the sun sets over the area – which, if you’ve ever been to any of their other events like Alpenglow, you know is insane.
