Well folks, it’s not exactly a surprise considering last week’s events, but a few popular BC highways are now closed to non-essential travel. As well, a couple of really big highways are simply closed, with no detours available. Here’s what to know.
First up, a major portion Highway 5 (the Coquihalla Highway) remains closed between Othello and Merritt for the foreseeable future. Additionally, a stretch of Highway 1 (Trans-Canada Highway) is closed between Lytton and Spencers Bridge. These two highways are completely closed, and an estimated time of reopening is not available.
