Everyone has a movie that they can honestly say they’ve seen about 50 or more times without exaggeration. It’s typically a holiday movie or something that they’ve worked into their annual traditions ensuring that they watch it year after year, maybe more than once. For a lot of us, that move was a Halloween classic that will go down in history as one of the best, and man does that make Disney’s latest announcement MAJOR. Millennials prepare yourselves because next fall, the Sanderson Sisters will be back to run amok, amok, amok in Hocus Pocus 2 – yes, really.
28 years after its original release, the studio announced that the original cast (Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy) will revise their roles for the Disney+ original, which is said to be released in 2022.

So, how exactly will this play out?
Well, luckily for fans, the setup will actually be pretty similar to the original, with an unknowing protagonist breaking a binding spell to unleash the worst of the worst.
“In Hocus Pocus 2, three young women accidentally bring the Sanderson Sisters back to modern-day Salem and must figure out how to stop the child-hungry witches from wreaking a new kind of havoc on the world,” Disney said in a press release.
Now, it’s understandable if some of you are a little apprehensive. We totally get it! But – we trust that icons like Midler, Parker and Najimy wouldn’t have signed on if they didn’t think it was going to do the film justice – it was, after all, some of their best work. Also, director, Anne Fletcher has a pretty impressive resume, which includes movies like The Proposal and 27 Dresses.
