It’s no secret that Toronto is a prime location for some of the hottest film and television shows in the business. Even during a pandemic, there are loads of projects filming in the city right now. In fact, some of our favourites are being shot right here at home! Since we’re spending all this extra time binge-watching these days, we might as well learn what’s being created in our backyard right?
Here are 5 exciting TV shows and movie filming right now or soon in Toronto.
Did you know this hit Amazon Prime series was shot in Toronto? Now you do! The popular project is gearing up for their season three shoot right here in the city. As of now, filming is scheduled to take off on February 2nd and run all the way till August. Who knows, maybe you’ll spot one of their stars in the city this summer.
Jason Momoa’s hit Apple TV series See has been shooting their second season in Toronto for a few months now. Filming began back in October and is set to wrap up sometime in March. Along with Toronto, parts of this TV show are also filmed across the country in Vancouver, B.C. The more ya know!

The sixth season of this Amazon Prime series will be kicking off their shoot at the end of the month in Toronto. They’re set to be in town all the way until April. Although most of the show is shot at Toronto’s Pinewood Studios, you may recognize select scenes on location around the city.
This Netflix series debuted last year and it quickly became quite the hit. Now the shoot for their second season is well underway. This mystery TV show began filming in Toronto in September and should be around until March. Along with the studio footage they pick up at Cinespace, you might also recognize the Humber College campus when you’re binging this series.
Arguably the biggest production in the city right now is Kevin Hart’s Man From Toronto. If you’ve been paying any attention to entertainment news, then you know this superstar has been in town for quite a while now. The shoot for this flick is set to wrap up soon, but they’ve been here filming since the end of September.
Hot off of two new Star Trek series, they’re coming back with a third that is set to begin filming in Mississauga in February. Starring Rebecca Romijn, Anson Mount, and Ethan Peck as Spock, we’re sure this will be a solid addition to the legendary franchise.
And of course, The Handmaid’s Tale is aiming to wrap season 4 filming by late April. The show, based on Margaret Atwood’s classic dystopian novel, has racked up tons of critical and audience acclaim along with plenty of awards in the first few seasons. We’ll admit that 2020 was dystopian enough, so we’re happy that this season won’t be coming out just yet.
