Vancouver is getting a South Asian arts festival & FREE block party

Buckle up, Vancouver, because the 6th annual 5X Festival is bringing a week’s worth of arts, culture, and music events to the city this spring.

Celebrating all things creative and South Asian, the 5X Festival is a week-long lineup of storytelling, pride, visual art, fashion, and music. Best of all? The 5X Block Party is completely free to attend!

The block party is 5X’s flagship music festival, showcasing Surrey’s finest South Asian talent. In addition to free concerts, guests will be able to peruse local brands, as well as check out several art installations and food vendors.

From Diljit Dosanjh selling out Rogers Arena to AP Dhillon making history with the first Punjabi performance at the Juno Awards, South Asian music and artistry are seeing a ton of mainstream success, and for good reason.

Within Canada’s South Asian community is BC’s own Surrey, one of the fastest-growing arts & culture hubs in the country. Hence, the city’s involvement with this year’s festival!

As for the block party, attendees can RSVP for free online, and automatically be entered to win two all-access passes to the entire 5X lineup this year!

This year’s annual 5X Festival will take place at multiple locations across Vancouver and Surrey from June 11th to June 18th. More information about individual tickets and events is available here.
