Folks, it’s the end of another week. And, whether it was a week to remember, or one to forget, we have our weekly round-up of some stories from across the country. These good news stories are guaranteed to put a smile on your face. Or, at the very least, remind you of some of the awesome things going on across the country!

550 frontline health workers got to watch Game 7 live

We say they definitely deserve it! On Monday, the Toronto Maple Leafs allowed in 550 fully-vaccinated frontline health workers to Scotiabank Arena! While if they were Leaf’s fans, they might not have had the best possible night, it’s still a really awesome gesture.

Costco is bringing back samples and food

One of the simple joys in life is cruising around Costco and eating whatever samples they have on offer. Or, of course, buying those amazingly cheap hotdogs at the concession. And that simple pleasure is back, baby. So, grab that membership card and a date and get sampling!

September 30 is now the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation in Canada

This is a step in the right direction! Just yesterday, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau made September 30 a day to reflect on the horrible history, and present, of Canada’s treatment of Indigenous people and children. While a somber topic, it’s always important to remember what our country is built on.

The Black Academy award show is going to air on CBC next year

Now, this is awesome. The Black Academy was founded by Toronto-based actors Stephan James and Shamier Anderson to honour Black talent in Canada. The first of its kind! And, to make matters better, in 2022, the award ceremony will be broadcasted on the good ol’ CBC. We’re very excited to watch it next year.

A new list of the 100 best things to savour in Canada is out!

Put together by Canada’s Best, this list has 100 things happening in Canada’s culinary scene that you need to check out. From amazing mom-and-pop joints to Canada’s finest fine dining, this list has a whole lot of amazing things to check out for the interested foodie.

And that’s the good news! We hope that these stories gave you some good vibes and piqued some new interests in what’s going on across the country. It seems to always do that for us.
