5 beautiful places to go for a walk in Toronto

When you live in a big city like Toronto, sometimes it can be easy to forget that there’s more to the place than just the few blocks you walk around every day. Don’t get us wrong, we’re sure you’re block is gorgeous. But sometimes it’s nice to really lose yourself in an area of the city you’ve never seen before. There are tons of places that are perfect for a beautiful afternoon walk and we’re here to tell you about ’em!

Here are 5 of the most beautiful places to go for a walk in Toronto.

MOCCASIN TRAIL PARK

This North York location is home to that iconic rainbow bridge you always see when you’re driving northbound on the DVP. You know the one. The entrance to the park is just off of Lawrence Ave. Once you’re there, you can explore a little slice of nature complete with stunning forestry, a rushing ravine, and beautiful surrounding architecture. We recommend coming back with a bike to up your outdoor exercise.

Where: 55 Green Belt Dr

THE BELTLINE

Just off of Mount Pleasant Rd, this walking trail is, well, very pleasant. It spans a whopping 9 km through multiple city parks. Along the trail, you’ll spot ravines, wildlife, and beautiful forestry. It’ll be hard to believe you’re in the city when you start exploring here!

TOMMY THOMPSON PARK

Located within the Leslie Street Spit, this gorgeous walking path is the perfect mix of urban and wilderness. You’ll be able to walk along the water and nature trails, with the backdrop of the city skyline to keep you company. Plus, they have amazing smooth-pavement paths that are great for biking and roller skating.

Where: 1 Leslie St

GLEN STEWART RAVINE

Head over to the Beaches to enjoy this beautiful pocket of nature. You can walk through an incredible forest trail right within the city at the Glen Stewart Ravine. The spot is at peak prettiness when fall sets in and the leaves begin to change, so be sure to add it to your calendar then.

Where: 351 Glen Manor Dr

WEST TORONTO RAILPATH

Last but not least, we’ve got a Junction gem. Walk along this 2.1 km trail and take in the beautiful sights of the city landscape. The West Toronto Railpath was built on an abandoned railway and was designed to be a safe, car-free park. Along your walk, you’ll spot architectural masterpieces, loads of street art, and a taste of the vibrant culture that makes our city special. This pick isn’t the best if you’re looking for a nature escape, but it is great for appreciating the beauty of our concrete jungle.
