Well folks, it looks like you just got another option for some fun outdoors this long weekend! On Tuesday afternoon, the Parks Board announced that 3 outdoor pools will be opening in Vancouver starting this Saturday. The reopenings come with a whole host of new rules and protocols. So, here’s a little more info.
The three pools reopening this Saturday will be Kitsilano, Second Beach, and New Brighton. Then, if things go according to plan, Maple Grove and Hillcrest will open by mid-June. Opening hours vary, with both length swimming and public swimming available.

In order to visit, guests will need to book their timeslot online and in advance, as no drop-ins will be allowed. Public swimmers will be able to book in 90-minute time blocks, while length swimmers will have 45 minutes. Come prepared, as neither lockers nor changerooms will be available. Luckily, washrooms will still be open.
Once there, 2 guests will be able to use physical distancing pads to claim their space. These measure 7 feet by 7 feet, which is honestly bigger than what we’d expect usually, which is a nice silver lining.
Time slots for the 3 outdoor pools opening this weekend in Vancouver will be released online tomorrow. For more info, head to the city website!
