The 1000 Islands are gems in Ontario & can be explored on cruises

If you don’t head out and explore, you’ll never know what you’ll end up finding. For those road trip goers looking for something new to do, why not ditch the road and hit the water? On a cruise that is.

The iconic 1000 Islands is an area that has been beloved for years. Tourists have a chance to enjoy a scenic cruise and even get a chance to see Boldt Castle.

Sounds like something up your alley? There are several cruises available to book, one of them being Rockport Cruises.

Located in Rockport, ON., the cruise line has several options to enjoy depending on the amount of time you have on your hands.

One of them is the Heart of the Islands cruise which lasts about an hour. It lets you explore the 1000 Islands on a shorter schedule.

The Heart of the Islands Cruise is priced at $35 for adults and the company also offers a special family pass that includes two adults, and two children for $108 plus tax.

For a more in-depth experience, the Palaces & Palisades Cruise is highly recommended. It lasts for about two hours and features the Canadian Palisades where you can see a statue of St. Lawrence, sail under the 1000 Islands International Bridge, and view a stretch of cottage country called Millionaire’s Row, according to the cruise line.

You’ll also get a chance to see the Boldt Castle from afar, Zavikon Island, and Casablanca on Cherry Island. This cruise is priced at $40 for adults and $35 for seniors.

If you’re looking for a sunset experience, Rockport Cruises offers a Sunset Cruise with all the same stops. It’s more intimate and offers stunning views of the islands – a picture perfect moment.

Washrooms are available on the boats but have limited accessibility. There’s a bar and snacks available for purchase.

Lucky for you, the Boldt Castle Stop Over Cruise is back for the 2023 season.

This cruise is four hours long and includes a 2.5 hour stop at Boldt Castle. Here you will cruise past Zavikon Island Millionaire’s Row, the St. Lawrence Seaway, and including the 1000 Islands Bridge.

As for the Two Castle Tour, that one is still unavailable for the season. We’ll just have to admire them form afar.
